Congratulations to University's Sterling Davis for winning player of the week for Week 1. Davis went 5-for-10 (.500) with five RBIs, two doubles and one run scored.
Here are the top performers from the past week.
Kin Chow, Purdue Polytechnic
Over three games, the senior batted a perfect 7-for-7 with a triple, three walks, four RBIs and six runs scored. On the mound, Chow struck out five over 3⅔ innings, allowing three runs. Defensively, Chow finished with a perfect fielding percentage at shortstop.
Noah Dasgupta, Cascade
The lefty earned the win against University, allowing one run and one hit over four innings, striking out six.
Kyler Jones, Purdue Poly Broad Ripple
Jones set a new school record with 12 strikeouts against Columbus Christian. He allowed no earned runs on two hits and two walks. At the plate, Jones went 2-for-3 (.667) with one RBI, one walk and two stolen bases.
Rigg Mahurin, New Palestine
Mahurin went 7-for-11 (.636) with two RBIs, two runs scored, two walks and two doubles. On the mound, Mahurin added eight strikeouts over 4⅔ innings.
Chrystan McNeal, Pike
The senior went 8-for-13 (.615) with eight runs scored, three doubles and four stolen bases. On the season, McNeal is batting .588.
James Oliver, Southwestern
The junior went 6-for-8 (.750) with five RBIs, five runs scored, three doubles and one stolen base. On the mound, Oliver threw a complete game against South Decatur, striking out nine and allowing no earned runs on five hits and two walks. Oliver added three strikeouts over 1⅔ innings against Jac-Cen-Del.
Toby Savini, Cascade
The junior went 8-for-11 (.727) with two doubles, one triple, three runs scored, six RBIs and four stolen bases.
Sam Strader, Lutheran
Strader pitched a perfect game Thursday against Cardinal Ritter, striking out 13 batters on just 66 pitches. Strader added a home run against Ritter and went 3-for-5 (.600) with three runs scored, five RBIs, two home runs and one double in a doubleheader against Brebeuf Jesuit.
Anthony Suscha, Brebeuf Jesuit
Over four games, Suscha went 9-for-14 (.642) with 10 RBIs, three home runs, four doubles and six runs scored.
