Submit your vote for Athlete of the Week for week ending April 12; see last week's winner

A wet and chilly week that saw a number of events postponed produced seven standout performances that have led to nominations for our Athlete of the Week.

Voting will be open until the end of the day Thursday, with nominees from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Ithaca Journal and Corning Leader.

Nominees are compiled primarily through results reported to bgmsports@gannett.com or events covered by the publications. Nominations can also be sent by 6 p.m. Saturday to bgmsports@gannett.com.

This week's nominees:

Caleb Clark, Union-Endicott baseball: Clark was part of a combined no-hitter with Chris Zielewicz in a 5-0 victory over Binghamton. Clark struck out 13 and walked one over the first five innings.

Logan DeMember, Elmira baseball: DeMember went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a 4-3, eight-inning win over Vestal. He pitched 3 1/3 shutout innings of one-hit relief, striking out four and walking one to earn the win.

Matti Johnston, Corning softball: Johnston went 2-for-2 with two homers, three walks and five runs during a 16-3 victory over Elmira. She pitched a six-hitter, striking out eight, walking two and surrendering two earned runs.

Lauren Signor, Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour softball: Signor went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and five RBIs in a 19-6 victory against Spencer-Van Etten/Candor. In an 18-1 win against Elmira Notre Dame, Signor was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Andrew Slaven, Thomas A. Edison baseball: Slaven tossed a six-hitter and struck out five in a 6-1 triumph against Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour. He added a double, single and RBI at the plate. Earlier in the week, Slaven drove in two runs in the Spartans' 12-8 win over Elmira Notre Dame.

Brogan Sullivan, Horseheads boys lacrosse: Sullivan notched three goals and five assists in a 14-4 victory over Vestal. He added three goals and two assists in a 15-1 victory against Union-Endicott.

Hannah Watson, Chenango Valley girls lacrosse: Watson scored four goals, including the winner in overtime, to lift CV to an 11-10 victory over Seton Catholic Central. Earlier in the week, Watson netted three goals in a 13-3 win against Elmira. She added a goal in a 13-7 loss to Johnson City.
