Vote: Florida Power & Light (FPL) Athlete of the Week for April 7-12

The News Herald is back with the athlete of the week poll, but first, congratulations to Conrad Fish of Arnold, last week's Florida Power & Light (FPL) athlete of the week.

Congratulations to Evan Earnest, who won an Olympic and traditional state title this past weekend for the Bozeman boys' weightlifting team. Salutations also go to every Bay County track and Field champion crowned this past Thursday.

The athletes listed were chosen from coaches' nominations and game performances.

Evan Earnest, Bozeman weightlifting

Earnest captured the Class 1A state championships in both the traditional and Olympic lifts in the 169-pound weight class.

Cade Fowler, Mosley weightlifting

Fowler won the Class 2A state championship in the traditional lift in the 193-pound weight class.

Chase Wood, Mosley baseball

Wood pitched in four innings, striking out four and allowing two hits in the 15-0 victory over Crestview.

Tyler Harry, Rutherford baseball

Harry threw eight strikeouts, allowing three hits in the 2-1 victory over Walton.

Sam Compton, North Bay Haven baseball

Compton threw nine strikeouts, allowing two hits in the 11-1 victory over Malone.

Cooper Moss, Arnold baseball

Moss struck out 13, allowing three hits in the 4-1 victory over Greenwood.

Richard Brown, Arnold track and field

Brown is the Bay County 100-meter, 200, 400 and 400-hurdle champion.

Margaret Bartlow, North Bay Haven track and field

Bartlow holds the county title in both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races.

Shaniyah Carlos, Mosley track and field

Carlos is the county title holder in the 100, 200 and 4x100 ...
