The Texas Tech baseball team got routed on Saturday and it looked like more of the same might be in store Sunday after a sloppy start put the Red Raiders in an early five-run hole.
Not so fast, Robin Villeneuve declared.
"When we came back in the dugout, I think after the second it was 5-0," the Tech first baseman said. "It was, like, 'Hey, it's not going to happen like it happened yesterday. We're going to (expletive) fight back."
Villeneuve went 4 for 4 with a home run and two runs batted in and Jack Cebert delivered another stellar outing in long relief as Tech beat Baylor 9-8 Sunday at Dan Law Field/Rip Griffin Park. Tech (11-21, 7-8) won two out of three in the series against Baylor (22-13, 6-9). Tech won Friday's game 9-2 and lost Saturday's 18-4.
