When taking a look back at this past weekend across SEC baseball, there were many results that likely caught your attention, some maybe more than others.
For example, one of the SEC's most surprising results came at Auburn where the Tigers played host to one of the nation's top teams, and went on to sweep that series as well. In addition to that, ranked matchups took place in a few other places across the conference as well, with one of the biggest coming in Athens.
One a few examples of what was a loaded past week across the conference, how did those results now impact our weekly SEC power rankings?
Let's take a look at the latest SEC power rankings entering this week's action, which are current as of Monday, April 14.
16. Missouri Tigers
- Previous Ranking: No. 16
Missouri got a win during the midweek at SIUE, but would remain winless in SEC action after being swept at Florida in a series where the Tigers were outscored in all a combined 19-4. The Tigers record is now 12-23 overall, as well as 0-15 in SEC play, entering a week where Missouri will host Missouri State and Oklahoma.
15. South Carolina Gamecocks
- Previous Ranking: No. 15
After a 13-3 home victory over USC Upstate to begin this past week, South Carolina went on to be swept at Texas A&M during the weekend to fall to 2-13 in SEC play, with one loss being a 17-0 defeat in Game 2. The Gamecocks are also now 20-17 for the season, and will look to snap that three-game skid this week at home against both The Citadel and Ole Miss.
14. Kentucky Wildcats
- Previous Ranking: No. 12
Playing against one of the SEC's more challenging schedules this past week, Kentucky dropped three-of-four to Louisville and Texas where their lone victory was over the Longhorns in Game 2 of the weekend series, 5-4 in 15 innings. The Wildcats now sit at 19-14 overall, as well as 6-9 in SEC play, entering a week that includes a midweek game against Miami (OH) before a weekend trip to Tennessee.
13. Florida Gators
