High School Roundup: Highlights from a rainy Monday and Tuesday's schedule

GIRLS LACROSSE

Division I

Chariho 19, South Kingstown 11

The Chargers started their first season in the state's top division with a big win, racing out to a 12-8 lead at halftime, and piling on the points in the second frame. Chariho got goals from Kayden Jaillet (13), Aubrey Currier (3), Alexis Comella (2) and Lola DosSantosKya Perrin made 4 saves in the win. For the Rebels, Luci Capizzo had 6 goals, Mia Moffitt and Dylan Gwiazdzinski each scored twice and Hadley Cottrell added one. Grace Riley made 2 saves in the loss.

Chariho's Kayden Jaillet, center, had 13 goals in Monday's win over South Kingstown.

Division III/IV

Classical 18, PCD 8

Orla Howlett scored 10 goals, Madeline Mcgrane added 3 and Madelynn Coleatgels had 2 as the D-IV Purple cruised to the victory. Eloise Wetherby led the D-III Saints with 3 goals while Emeline Turnbull and Sofia DaPonte each had a pair.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Achievement First 3, Burrillville 0

The play of AJ Kue (5 kills, 3 aces and 8 assists), James Gilbert (4 kills, 4 aces and 6 assists) and Jairon Nunez (5 kills) lifted Achievement First to a 25-22, 25-17, 25-16 triumph over Burrillville. For the Broncos, Nomar Torres-Luna recorded 4 kills, 24 digs and 1 ace, Grant Godzwon posted 4 kills, 2 aces and 6 digs, and Omar Espinal was good for 19 digs in the loss.

Cranston West 3, Pilgrim 0

Ziyue Wang finished with 10 kills and 3 digs, Eli Lopez added 7 kills, a block and a dig and Ashton Mak had 2 aces, 1 block,  2 digs and 20 assists, sparking the Falcons to a 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 victory. Geovanny Maldonado had 5 kills and 2 aces and Logan McDermott contributed 10 assists for the Patriots.
