2. SIMI VALLEY (8-5, 2-1 Coastal Canyon League)

Comment: The Pioneers have wins over three teams who made deep runs last postseason in Pacifica, Camarillo and Moorpark.

3. PACIFICA (12-4, 5-1 Channel League)

Comment: The Channel League leader has wins over Marmonte League foes Calabasas and Thousand Oaks.

4. VENTURA (10-5-1, 4-1-1 Channel League)

Comment: The Cougars sport three out-of-state wins and a victory over Marmonte League leader Westlake.

5. WESTLAKE (9-3, 3-0 Marmonte League)

Comment: The Warriors opened defense of their Marmonte League title last week by sweeping a three-game series against Newbury Park.

6. OAKS CHRISTIAN (7-5, 2-1 Marmonte League)

Comment: The Lions were one inning away from a three-game sweep of Calabasas last week.

7. AGOURA (7-5, 2-1 Marmonte League)

Comment: The Chargers opened Marmonte League play last week by taking two of three from Thousand Oaks.

8. CALABASAS (9-4, 1-2 Marmonte League)

Comment: The young Coyotes brought a five-game winning streak into the start of Marmonte League play.

9. THOUSAND OAKS (8-4, 1-2 Marmonte League)

Comment: The Lancers have wins over Moorpark, St. Bonaventure and Buena under first-year coach Hayden Croenenbold.

10-tie. CAMARILLO (5-9, 2-2 Coastal Canyon League)

Comment: Last year’s CIF-SS finalists are already in a playoff race.

1. CAMARILLO (14-2, 1-0 Coastal Canyon League), CIF-SS No. 11

Comment: The Scorpions have five wins over The Star’s Top 10, including Saturday’s 9-8 victory over Westlake.

2. OAKS CHRISTIAN (4-1, 2-0 Marmonte League), CIF-SS No. 84

Comment: Despite only playing a handful of games so far, the Lions have wins over Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Westlake.

3. SIMI VALLEY (10-5-1, 0-1 Coastal Canyon League), CIF-SS No. 63
