Monday baseball highlights: Big fourth inning helps Alliance put away Perry
ALLIANCE 17, PERRY 2: The Aviators erupted for 14 runs in the fourth inning to put away the visiting Panthers. Winning pitcher Val Fisk helped his own cause by driving in four runs for Alliance. Michael Blackwell had three RBIs.
GLENOAK 4, URSULINE 3: Kyle Moff went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Golden Eagles, who improved to 3-0.
TUSLAW 3, MINERVA 1: Andrew Shackle allowed just three hits and struck out 10 for the Mustangs (3-0) in their win over the Lions.
CARROLLTON 3, GARAWAY 0: Brayden Swearingen allowed just two hits over five innings as the Warriors shut out the Pirates. Nevan Woods, Isaac Husted and Landen McClelland combined for five of Carrollton’s 10 hits.
FAIRLESS 13, LINCOLN WEST 1: The Falcons (2-0) scored nine runs in the first inning on their way to a convincing win. Mike Ritterbeck went 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBIs for Fairless.
CONOTTON VALLEY 5, EAST CANTON 4: The Rockets scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Hornets. Eli Starnes drove in two runs for East Canton.
Monday softball highlights: Savanna Eccard, Christina Carroll lead GlenOak past Massillon
GLENOAK 6, MASSILLON 2: Savanna Eccard went 3-for-3 with a double and Christina Carroll drove in three runs for the Golden Eagles in their win over the Tigers. Shelby Decker homered for Massillon.
MALVERN 16, LEETONIA 3: Ashlyn Bush struck out 11 and went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs in the Hornets’ win over Leetonia.
TUSKY VALLEY 5, SANDY VALLEY 3: Bella Meade and Teresa Petro each doubled and drove in runs for the Cardinals in their loss to the Trojans.
