- HUDSON 7, WESTERVILLE CENTRAL 4: Luke Mager struck out eight in 6⅓ innings as Hudson opened its 2025 season with a victory. Mager (1-0) allowed one hit, two walks and two runs.

- ST. VINCENT-ST. MARY 6, COPLEY 3: First-year coach Tony Hudson earned his first win with the Irish.
Thursday's softball results
- ARCHBISHOP HOBAN 15, ELLET 0: The Knights (3-0) pounded out 15 hits in an easy win over visiting Ellet (2-1).
- LAKE 11, PERRY 0: Bri Handy drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Blue Streaks to a Federal League home win. Lake scored six runs in the third inning, with Handy driving in two runs with a double and Aubrey Eisele adding a two-run single.
- WALSH JESUIT 11, LOUISVILLE 5: The host Warriors (4-0) scored five runs in both the third and sixth innings in a nonleague win.
Thursday's boys lacrosse results
- WADSWORTH 10, JACKSON 4: Jackson Erksa and Preston Davis each recorded a hat trick with an assist to lead the Grizzlies to a home-opening win. JB Clendenning had two scores and an assist for Wadsworth. Ben Fisher saved 10 Jackson shots for Wadsworth.
- WOOSTER 8, COPLEY 5: Jaxon Chang scored three times but it wasn't enough as Copley (2-1) suffered its first loss of the season.
