Beach Volleyball
Port Charlotte 3, Fort Myers 2: Two of the area's best beach volleyball squads duked it out Monday afternoon at the Midtown Beach Sports Complex.
With the match coming down to the No. 3 court, Port Charlotte's Harlee Tudor and Angelina Oliveira rose up and made timely plays, once trailing 11-8 against the Fort Myers tandem of Erin McDowell and Isabella Higby, before storming back to end the match on a 7-0 run.
The Pirates handed the Green Wave their first loss of the season after being ranked as high as second in Florida, winning 3-2.
Fort Myers cruised to wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts, as Gabby Dwyer and Ashlee Tenkley have yet to drop a set this season after beating Nygeria Hart and Hanna Hall. Amber Englehart and Kasey Corr also won on the No. 2 court via sweep, taking down Kiera Hundley and Grace Parent.
The No. 4 and 5 courts were sweeps for Port Charlotte, which moves to 7-2 on the season. Fort Myers (6-1) will aim to get back in the win column on Friday against SFCA.

Oasis 16, Gateway Charter 0: Kaitlyn McGee hit a solid line drive into left center for an early grand slam. McGee had 6 RBI for the game. Meesha Neujahr hit an in the park home run. Audrey Doan, Emma Neujahr, Madelyn Simison, Kyra Lavender, and Bri Davenport had multiple stolen bases.
Sebring 5, LaBelle 2
Girls Lacrosse
Bishop Verot 15, Aubrey Rogers 8: Lily Lockard led the Vikings with 4 goals, 5 assists, and 5 ground balls. Addison Wolfe and Caroline Ward scored 3 goals each, while Daphne O'Hara and Liz Schlager added 2 apiece. Maggie Swift made 12 saves in goal.
Barron Collier 24, Palmetto Ridge 0: The Cougars shut out the Bears on the road. Angie Juarez-Perez had four ground balls and three draw controls for Palmetto Ridge, while Chloe Walsh had one ground ball. Cara Nasa, Ana Lobaton, Kendra Pierre, and Arianna Perez combined for 14 saves in net.
Girls Tennis
FBA 5, Marco 2: Court 2: The Lions won the singles courts 2-5 with wins from Charlize Flornes, Madeline Rigsby, Sunny, and Isabeli Oliveria, respectively. FBA also took second doubles with Kaylee Bates and Quinn Sullivan.
Boys Tennis
Oasis 7, SFCA 0: Oasis singles winners were Nate Orozco, Michael Abreu, Brendan Overbaugh, Emmanuel Diaz, and Luciano Demaglhaes and the winning doubles pairs were Nate Orozco/Michael Abreu and Tommy Tarsia/Brendan Overbaugh.
