Streetsboro's Scott Wilson tossed a one-hitter around Mogadore Tuesday.

Scott Wilson tossed a one-hitter as he led Streetsboro to an 11-1 nonleague baseball win over visiting Mogadore.

Wilson yielded one run, one hit and two walks while striking out six to pick up the win for the Rockets (1-0). Jack Batten led the way at the plate, going 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs, while Brady Long doubled, walked and scored three runs.

Garfield 5, Southeast 0

Garfield's Aidan Hill, shown during the 2023 tournament, tossed a two-hit shutout Tuesday.

The G-Men jumped in front of the Pirates in their Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Grey Tier opener with a three-run bottom of the first.

Aidan Hill was brilliant on the mound — tossing a two-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts — and at the plate — with two singles, two RBIs and a run scored.

Roosevelt 10, Cuyahoga Falls 0

The Rough Riders won their league opener behind a gem from Tristyn Page, who tossed a two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in just five innings.

Roosevelt leadoff hitter Teddy Maccarone reached base in all four of his plate appearances with two singles and two walks, scoring three runs. Deonne Dickerson also scored three runs for the Rough Riders (1-1, 1-0 Suburban American), going 2 for 2 with a walk.

Softball

Waterloo 20, Western Reserve 1

The Vikings took control with a 10-run first, followed by a five-run second and a three-run third. Kristlyn Kehrer played a big role in all that, notching a single, two doubles, a triple and four RBIs, while Jolean Hampton added two singles and a triple.

The two were equally dominant in the circle, with Hampton tossing three hitless (and scoreless) innings with five strikeouts and Kehrer tossing the final two innings for Waterloo (3-1, 2-0 MVAC Scarlet Tier).

Southeast 12, Garfield 7

The Pirates scored multiple runs in the first four innings sparked by Morgan Muncy, who went 4 for 5 with two doubles, a homer, five RBIs and four runs scored. Ava Stephens also had a massive day for Southeast (2-1, 1-1 MVAC Grey Tier), going 3 for 5 with a double, a homer and three RBIs. Liv Bragg ensured that was enough, tossing 4 ⅓ scoreless innings of relief.

Ravenna 17, Lake Center 3

Whitney Holmes earned the complete-game victory for the Ravens with 10 strikeouts against just one walk. She also went 3 for 6 at the plate with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Shyanna Dillbeck also had three hits, finishing with two runs and three RBIs, while Jocelyn Smallwood had a team-high four hits.
