The time has come once again to vote for The Star Press Athlete of the Week, sponsored by IU Health.
The reigning Athlete of the Week is Nate Luce of Wapahani boys basketball (March 10-15). On March 15, Luce powered Wapahani to its third consecutive Class 2A regional title with 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and six steals in the final. He knocked down some clutch 3-pointers in the fourth quarter of the Raiders' 53-45 win over Western Boone. Luce received 22,057 out of 38,523 votes cast (57.26%).
This week brings us five track and field athletes from the Muncie-area who had standout performances at the Hoosier State Relays indoor track and field state championships on Saturday, March 29. To submit nominees for next week's poll, please email their name and any relevant statistics or accomplishments to cbhampton@muncie.gannett.com.

Here's a quick look at this week's nominees:
- Marcus Bright, Delta boys track: Bright placed third in the boys 60-meter hurdles at the HSR state indoor championships. He set a new indoor school record with a time of 8.13 seconds. Bright earned a second bronze medal with Delta's 4x200 relay team, which also set a new school record with a time of 1:32.41.
- Lydia Waggener, Shenandoah girls track: Waggener earned a silver medal at the HSR state indoor championships alongside the rest of Shenandoah's girls 4x400 relay team, which broke a school record with its time of 4:07.87. She also ran with the Raiders' 4x200 team, which placed 11th with a time of 1:50.49. Waggener also competed in two individual events, ...
