Matthew Kloskey of Wauwatosa West boys basketball was the winner of last week's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel high school Piggly Wiggly athlete of the week poll.
Kloskey earned 6,490 votes out of 11,652 total votes cast.
The junior forward earned his nomination with a 22-point, 11-rebound double-double in a WIAA Division 2 state semifinal win over Wausau East. He followed that performance with a game-high 29 points and seven rebounds to lead Tosa West to a program-first WIAA state title win over Racine Park.
Zavier Zens of Wisconsin Lutheran boys basketball finished second with 5,089 votes. Also nominated were fellow boys hoops stars including Isaiah Robinson of Racine Park, Devin Brown of Milwaukee Academy of Science and Jamarion Batemon of Milwaukee Academy of Science.
