Vote: Who should be The Register Guard's boys swimmer of the year?
The Oregon high school boys swimming state championships included several Eugene-area athletes with high podium finishes.

Here are the nominees, in alphabetical order, for Eugene-area boys swimmer of the year:
Rhett Allred, North Eugene
The senior finished in fifth place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.25 seconds at the 5A state tournament. Allred swam anchor in the Highlanders in the 400 freestyle relay that took fifth in 3:28.06.
Deegan Deng, Marist Catholic
The freshman finished sixth in the 200 individual medley in 2:14.08 at the 4A/3A/2A/1A state tournament.
Quinn Devenport, Thurston
The junior took second in the 50 freestyle in 21.38 seconds and third in the 100 freestyle in 47.44 at the 5A state tournament. Devenport swam the first leg on the Colts' 200 medley relay that finished second in 1:40.98.
Cooper Gill, Sheldon
The sophomore took seventh in the 200 freestyle in 1:44.77 at the 6A state tournament.
Josiah Hay, North Eugene
The senior finished fifth in the 100 backstroke in 57.95 at the 5A state tournament.
Hayden Henniger, North Eugene
The senior finished sixth in the 50 freestyle in 22.80 and third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.26 at the 5A state tournament.
Jonathan McDonough, Marist Catholic
The senior took third in the 100 butterfly in 54.19 and third in the 100 backstroke in 55.96 at the 4A/3A/2A/1A state tournament.
Dylan Myrick, South Eugene
The junior finished sixth in the 500 freestyle in 4:47.73 at the 6A state tournament. Myrick swam the first leg on the Axe 400 freestyle relay that took ninth in 3:24.43.
Ari Ozdogan, South Eugene
The senior took fifth in the 50 freestyle in 22.08 at the 6A state tournament. Ozdogan swam anchor in the Axe 200 medley relay that finished fifth in 1:38.10 and the 200 freestyle relay that took fifth in 1:28.27.
Wayko Sanders, Thurston
The freshman took third in the 200 individual medley in 2:01.49 and fifth in the 500 freestyle in 4:59.74 at the 5A state tournament.
Burke Sherman, South Eugene
The junior took fifth in the 200 individual medley in 1:53.87 at the 6A state tournament.
Tim Trojan, South Eugene
The junior finished eighth in the 200 freestyle in 1:44.96 and seventh in the 100 butterfly in 52.26 at the 6A state tournament.
Hayes Valley, Cottage Grove
The senior finished fourth in the 100 backstroke in 56.24 and sixth in the 100 freestyle in 51.43 at the 4A/3A/2A/1A state tournament.
Brody Wyatt, Thurston
The sophomore swam the third leg on the Colts' 200 freestyle relay that took second in 1:28.64 and the 200 medley relay that took second in 1:40.98 at the 5A state tournament.
