Numerous athletes from the Salem-Keizer area shone on the big stage during the OSAA state basketball championships.
This week's Maps Credit Union high school boys Athlete of the Week nominees are:
- Gavin Hall, Western Christian basketball
- Landon Knox, Cascade basketball
- Avery Lohrman, Sprague basketball
- Braxton Long, Sprague basketball
- Eli Silbernagel, Regis basketball

Gavin Hall, Western Christian
Western Christian senior guard Gavin Hall had a team-high 19 points, nine rebounds and four steals March 8 in the Pioneers' 52-40 win over Portland Christian in the Class 2A state title game at the Pendleton Convention Center.
One day earlier, in a semifinal win over Regis, Hall scored 22 points on 7-of-16 shooting.
Landon Knox, Cascade basketball
Cascade senior guard Landon Knox scored a team-high 23 points and grabbed six rebounds March 13 in the Cougars' 56-34 win over Seaside in the Class 4A state quarterfinals at Forest Grove High School.
Avery Lohrman, Sprague basketball
Sprague senior guard Avery Lohrman scored 23 points on 9-of-9 shooting — including 4-of-4 from three-point range — March 14 in the Olympians' 87-69 consolation win over Southridge at the Class 6A state tournament at the Chiles Center.
Braxton Long, Sprague basketball
Sprague senior guard Braxton Long scored 11 points and dished out 14 assists in the Olympians' 87-69 consolation win over Southridge at the Class 6A state tournament at the Chiles Center on March 14.
Eli Silbernagel, Regis basketball
Regis junior post Eli Silbernagel scored 14 points and tallied seven rebounds and three blocks in a 77-69 loss to Oakland in the Class 2A third-place/fifth-place game at the Pendleton Convention Center on March 7.
One day earlier, in a semifinal loss to Western Christian, Silbernagel racked up 18 points and 13 boards.
