Vote: Who should be The Register-Guard's boys Athlete of the Week?
Eugene-area boys basketball teams have found success on the court in the postseason in recent weeks.
Pleasant Hill took second place at the 3A tourney after a 65-47 loss to Westside Christian. Thurston played West Albany for fourth place in the 5A tournament Saturday. Results were not available at press time.
This week's Register-Guard boys Athlete of the Week nominees are:
- Landen Melvin, Pleasant Hill
- Treyson Hill, Thurston
- Noah Blair, Thurston
- Tyler Whitson, Creswell
- Gavin Inglish, Pleasant Hill
Information about each nominee is listed below. Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving at registerguard.com/sports. The poll closes at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Landen Melvin, Pleasant Hill
The junior had 29 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds for the Billies in three games at the 3A state tournament last weekend.
Treyson Hill, Thurston
The freshman hit the buzzer-beater shot March 14 to give the Colts a 50-49 win over Crescent Valley in a 5A state tournament consolation game. Hill had four points, two rebound and two assists for the Colts in his team's first two games at the tourney.
Noah Blair, Thurston
The senior had 27 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Colts in his team's first two games at the 5A state tournament.
Tyler Whitson, Creswell
The senior had 31 points, seven rebounds and eight assists for the Bulldogs in their two games at the 3A state tournament.
Gavin Inglish, Pleasant Hill
The senior accounted for 53 points, 20 rebounds and five assists for the Billies in their three games at the 3A state tournament.
