Raphinha has been one of the biggest revelations of the season for FC Barcelona, unleashing his best version under the tutelage of Hansi Flick in his third season at the club.
The 27-year-old was even named one of the club captains by the German tactician at the start of the season and the winger has lived up to the responsibility, leading by example on and off the field.
Given his growing importance in the team and the trust that Flick has in him, Barcelona have been working to renew Raphinha’s contract, which expires in 2027.
Future sale not ruled out
However, now, according to Xavi Campos on Catalunya Radio, despite progress in negotiations over a contract extension, FC Barcelona are not ruling out a potential transfer of Raphinha if a suitable offer arrives.
The Catalan giants are open to a sale if the terms are favourable, i.e., if an offer worth around €80-90 million arrives, even as talks with the Brazilian winger’s representatives continue.
Raphinha and the club aim to finalise a contract renewal in the coming months, with the intention of extending his deal beyond 2027. Deco has already initiated discussions with the player’s camp.
Barcelona are offering a salary increase and the possibility of including a “reasonable” release clause starting in 2026, after the World Cup in the United States of America.
During negotiations, Raphinha’s representatives have requested higher wages than what Barcelona are currently offering.
As a result, Deco has raised the idea of a potential transfer in the future, provided a club is willing to meet the player’s financial demands and Barcelona receive a fee in the range of €80 to €90 million.
Raphinha has received interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, and the option remains on the table. However, the player prefers to continue competing at the highest level at least until after the 2026 World Cup.
The report must be taken with a pinch of salt, considering Raphinha’s commitment to Barcelona and the fact that he is one of Flick’s ‘untouchables’.
