Barcelona are rewriting the record books in the UEFA Champions League this season, and the numbers leave no room for doubt.

Under Hansi Flick, the team has found the back of the net with incredible consistency, and their attacking form has placed them at the very top in terms of scoring averages in the history of the competition.

With their recent 4-0 demolition of Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-final first leg, Barcelona have now reached an outstanding total of 36 goals in just 11 matches.

That tally means Barça are scoring at an astonishing rate of 3.27 goals per game—making them the team with the highest goal average in Champions League history

This impressive feat pushes them ahead of Flick’s own legendary Bayern Munich side, who set the previous benchmark during their dominant 2019/2020 campaign with a scoring average of 3.17 goals per game.

Goals flow freely at Montjuic and beyond

One of the most remarkable features of this Barcelona side is their ability to score in every single game of the Champions League campaign so far. Whether at home or on the road, Flick’s team has delivered goals with ease.

At home, Barcelona have been just as ruthless. Apart from the 2-2 draw against Atalanta in the final group-stage match, the team has scored at least three goals in every other game played at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

The goals have been well distributed among the squad, with nine different players finding the net. However, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have been in a league of their own.

Raphinha currently leads the Champions League scoring charts with 12 goals, while Lewandowski is close behind, having added two more against Dortmund to take his tally to 11.

A familiar protagonist

What makes this achievement all the more special is that it is being led by a manager who already holds a place in Champions League history.

Flick’s influence has been evident, and his attacking philosophy has brought out the best in this Barcelona squad.

By surpassing the scoring average of his own former Bayern team, Flick has once again shown his ability to build teams that not only win but do so with flair and conviction.
