Tennessee Titans trade down, select unexpected QB in wild PFF mock draft

With free agency and draft preparations in full swing, it is a busy time for the Tennessee Titans and their staff.

While chatter surrounding a potential trade of the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft has calmed over the past few weeks with outlets reading into the team's moves and declaring Miami's Cam Ward is the guy, the Titans remain tight-lipped. No one has seen their draft board or really knows what the plan is at the moment.

The team at Pro Football Focus (PFF) still believes a trade is a possibility and made one in their latest mock, with the Titans trading out of the top spot in a deal with the New York Giants. In the deal, the Titans received a first-round pick (3), a 2025 third-round pick (65), a 2026 first-round pick and a 2026 third-round pick.

After the move, the Titans passed on the common names associated with them and went in a completely different direction.

3. *TRADE* Tennessee Titans (via Giants): QB Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
Trade terms: Titans receive No. 3 pick, No. 65 pick, 2026 first-round pick and 2026 third-round pick; Giants receive No. 1 pick
The Titans profit from the Giants’ desperation and take Dart while gaining multiple picks to build out their team over the next two years. With the best data profile of any quarterback in this class, Dart has the arm talent, accuracy and athleticism to become a franchise NFL quarterback.

Jaxson Dart has been rising up draft boards and has received some first-round buzz, but this is the first mock that has him going this high. He is a polarizing prospect and a hard one to truly evaluate coming from a quarterback-friendly offense. He has the size and skill set to project as an NFL-caliber starting quarterback but may need seasoning before truly taking the reins as the face of a franchise.

Throughout Dart's career, he has struggled against elite competition and complex defenses that take away his initial read, something that could be a huge problem in the pros.

If the Titans do decide to pass on Ward at No. 1, reaching for a quarterback at No. 3 seems like a stretch and goes against the “generational talent” talk of both Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker. If they do trade out, Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter would be more viable options, but this is the NFL and anything is possible.
