Jordan Reid: Tennessee Titans most likely to draft a quarterback in Round 1
It's no secret that the Tennessee Titans have a serious quarterback problem that needs to be addressed. But so far this offseason, they haven't made many moves to inspire hope that they have a plan.
They have the number one pick in the 2025 NFL draft and haven't made it clear what their intentions are with that pick, but ESPN draft analyst Jordan Reid thinks they're the most likely team to draft a quarterback in the first round.
Which team is now most likely to draft a quarterback in Round 1?
This isn't a lock, but with the No. 1 pick and some clues from their free agency moves, I'm going with the Tennessee Titans. They have been aggressive in fortifying their offensive line, signing left tackle Dan Moore Jr. to a four-year, $82 million deal and guard Kevin Zeitler to a one-year, $9 million contract. That signals that the team is possibly preparing the foundation for a rookie QB selected at the top of the draft.
Cam Ward (Miami) is my top-ranked quarterback in the class. He would provide Tennessee, which currently has Will Levis as the top QB option, with a true playmaker at the position. Ward can throw from multiple arm slots and generate velocity with ease.
Considering the lack of information coming out of the front office combined with the lack of real motion at addressing this need, it makes sense that the Titans would go with a quarterback at No. 1. They also spent some cash on upgrading the offensive line, which was desperately needed.
Will Levis is training with Jordan Palmer this offseason, working on solidifying his fundamental footwork and decision-making, and he will have a shot at the starting job when the time comes later this year.
The biggest question remaining is who will be his competition? Is it really Brandon Allen? Or are the Titans going to draft Cam Ward? We will all have to wait for the answers to those questions, and to find out what the Titans' plan for 2025 is going to look like.
