Tennessee Titans add a QB, sign San Francisco 49ers' Brandon Allen to a one-year deal
After the Tennessee Titans watched last season’s part-time starter Mason Rudolph sign a contract to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers, they were left with only Will Levis on the roster.
That all changed Thursday when word broke that the Titans had agreed to terms with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brandon Allen on a one-year deal.

Entering his 10th NFL season, Allen is a journeyman quarterback but is already familiar with the system from his time in Cincinnati with head coach Brian Callahan. Allen was the primary backup to Joe Burrow with the Bengals for three seasons while Callahan was the offensive coordinator.
After his time with the Bengals, Allen became the No. 2 to Brock Purdy in San Francisco for the past two seasons.
A sixth-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2016 NFL draft, Allen has spent time with the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, Bengals, and 49ers during his career. Over that span, he has completed 166-of-293 passes (56.7 percent) for 1,810 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
The move gives the Titans two quarterbacks on the roster but does not limit the possibility of selecting one in the 2025 NFL draft. University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward is often linked to the Titans with the No. 1 overall pick and remains a distinct possibility for that spot.
