Which player is the Titans' best trade asset?
The Tennessee Titans have been somewhat active during the offseason, bringing in players and letting some go while retaining others. They also have the top pick in the 2025 NFL draft, although it remains unclear what they will do with that pick. Even with the additions to the team, the Titans lack star power, a household name that would garner interest should the Titans want to make a trade.
The Titans may or may not trade out of the top pick, but that doesn't preclude them from making a trade later in the draft. Currently, they have eight picks in the 2025 draft: the top pick, a second-round pick, and two picks in each of the fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds. That means they don't have a third-round or a seventh-round pick this year, and if they want to add draft capital, they'll need collateral.
Pro Football Focus recently named each NFL team's best trade asset, and for the Titans, it was safety Amani Hooker.
Tennessee Titans: S Amani HookerThe Titans upgraded a roster devoid of much star power in free agency, but there still aren’t a ton of immediate or realistic trade assets. One player who might qualify as an underrated option is Hooker. While playing 848 snaps — third on Tennessee — Hooker notched a solid 66.3 PFF coverage grade with just a 68.4 passer rating allowed when targeted. Plus, the Titans will return safety Quandre Diggs and signed Xavier Woods. The 26-year-old Hooker, on the books for just one more year, is a versatile chess piece who teams might go after.
Hooker has been with the Titans since they drafted him in 2019. They kept him around after his rookie contract, and he has repaid them with solid production. In 2024, Hooker was tied for fourth in the NFL for most interceptions with five. It was a career season for him; he recorded 71 tackles (47 solo), two forced fumbles, nine pass deflections, and 8.5 stuffs.
While the Titans would probably rather keep Hooker than let him go, he could provide trade value for added draft picks if the Titans decide to add draft capital.
