Meet the Blue FCU Athlete of the Week nominees
The following Fort Collins-area athletes are nominated for their performances from March 31 to April 5:
- Ellie Barry, Fossil Ridge girls golf: The SaberCats senior is off to a strong start this season, winning her second straight event with an individual title in the PSD Invite. Barry fired a 1-under 71 at Harmony Club, including an eagle and four birdies as Fossil also dominated the team standings.
- Kiana Cumings, Windsor girls track and field: The Wizards junior showed elite speed at the Altitude Invite, sweeping the 100- and 200-meter dash titles plus racing for Windsor's winning 100 and 400 relay units. Cumings had MileSplit "Elite Performance" times in the 100 and 200 and on the 4x100 relay squad.
- Addison Geraets, Timnath girls track and field: The junior was part of a big weekend for the Cubs. Geraets won the 300-meter hurdles and took second in the 110 hurdles, helping Timnath win the Altitude Invite girls team title by 0.5 points. Geraets' winning mark gave her two top-12 times among Colorado 300 girls hurdlers this season, regardless of classification.
- Colton Pawlak, PSD boys lacrosse: The Stars senior was the difference maker in PSD's 10-6 win over Fairview. Pawlak was all over the field, scoring 6 goals, dishing out an assist, picking up four ground balls and forcing two takeaways.
- Jacqui Wilson, Poudre girls soccer: The Impalas junior kept Poudre rolling on the pitch this spring, scoring a hat trick in a 10-0 win over Wellington last week. Wilson has been a key part of Poudre's impressive 5-1-1 start, tying the team high with 14 points on 6 goals and 2 assists.
