The Washington Commanders showed a common theme when selecting players in the NFL draft last season, and a recent meeting with an experienced interior offensive lineman shows that he could be on their radar for the 2025 NFL draft. Dan Quinn already mentioned this week that Brandon Coleman and Andrew Wylie would be competing at the right tackle position, so it makes sense to start focusing on more interior offensive linemen in the draft that the team might be high on.
Adam Peters showed in 2024 that he loves draft prospects with extensive experience, and former Texas Longhorn center Jake Majors could very well be on the list of targets for 2025. Majors says in an interview with Justin Melo from the Draft Network that he met with teams at his Pro Day and also had a Zoom call recently with the Washington Commanders.

Washington has been revamping the offensive line throughout the offseason, and could look to the draft for their remaining needs. There was a drastic dropoff in consistency on the offensive line when Tyler Biadasz wasn't in the game, and the Commanders could use a reliable offensive lineman like Majors, who made an astounding 56 starts at center in his collegiate career at Texas. The center position is the foundation, and the vocal leader of the offensive line, with Majors being one of the more consistent centers in the country over the last few years.
"I take a lot of pride in laying that foundation down. That鈥檚 how I saw it at Texas, and that鈥檚 how I鈥檒l continue seeing it at the next level as well. You have to communicate at a high level to play the center position." says Majors in his interview with Justin Melo
Majors finished his college career without allowing a sack in his last two seasons, and only 3 QB hits allowed in that same time frame. Even with Biadasz as the starting center, Washington could very well kick Majors to guard with his 6-foot-3, 306-pound frame to beef up the interior, and could lineup at center when needed. According to PFF's big board, the reliable offensive lineman is projected to go on day 3, but I could see a way Majors sneaks into the 4th round, and becomes a long-term player for the NFL team that drafts him.
