The Seattle Seahawks signed former North Dakota State offensive lineman Jalen Sundell as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL draft. Sundell made the roster out of training camp, spending the majority of his rookie season in a reserve role. After totaling just 57 snaps, the Seahawks apparently have bigger plans for him as a sophomore.
General manager John Schneider entered this offseason needing to improve the offensive line. Unfortunately, Schneider did not achieve that goal via free agency, where he struggled to identify ideal fits for his team. While that will force Seattle to draft multiple offensive linemen in April, it's also forcing them to rely on in-house improvement from ascending talents. Sundell is one of those players.
"He can play several different positions," Schneider said about Sundell during the annual league ownership meetings. "The staff really likes him. He’s smart, tough, reliable. That’s going to be interesting. Those two guys, that’s going to be pretty interesting there, but center’s going to be hard (to find an upgrade in the draft)."

Schneider is referring to Olu Oluwatimi and Sundell as "those two guys." The current indication is that Oluwatimi possesses the inside track on Seattle's starting center job heading into the 2025 campaign. Sundell will apparently compete for the gig in training camp and throughout the preseason.
Hopefully the Seahawks have a gem on their hands in Sundell. The offensive line needs all the help it can get.
