The Miami Dolphins are set to host LSU tight end Mason Taylor on a private visit, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Taylor is the son of Dolphins legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Jason Taylor. He's also the nephew of Zach Thomas, another Dolphins legend and Hall of Famer.
The 6'5, 251-pound tight end spent only three seasons with the Tigers, but finished his collegiate career with 129 receptions for 1,308 yards and six touchdowns. At the Senior Bowl earlier this year, Taylor showed off his ability and athleticism and was one of the standouts in practices.
Miami didn't feature the tight end position much in Mike McDaniel's first two seasons as the team's head coach, but the Dolphins found a reliable weapon in 2024 when they signed Jonnu Smith as a free agent. The veteran earned Pro Bowl honors by finishing with 88 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns.
Earlier this year, the Dolphins released Durham Smythe and replaced him in the tight end room with blocking specialist Pharaoh Brown.
