The New Orleans Saints have had a vast array of players to meet with throughout the 2025 offseason process, and this has led to quite the group of prospects being put together when it comes to who they have had discussions with. Anywhere from top quarterbacks to potential undrafted free agent punters, they have covered all their bases throughout the last few months.
Now the 2025 NFL draft is nearly upon us, and things are ramping up even more. With their local pro day having gone by, the list of prospects who attended has been slowly coming out as time goes on, and an additional name was added to that group recently. That player is LSU running back Josh Williams, who attended the local pro day for both the Saints and the Houston Texans, as was reported by Justin Melo of The Draft Network.
Williams had a solid collegiate career when it came to production, with 2024 being a relatively strong year for the five-year veteran. In 13 games he had 117 rushes for 482 yards (4.1 average) and six touchdowns, while also catching 31 passes for 263 yards (8.5 average). When it comes to his athleticism, he graded out as an 8.10 Relative Athletic Score calculated by Kent Lee Platte. His height and weight would both be major detractors at 5-foot-8 and 196 pounds, but the rest of his components and tests graded out well.
Overall, a solid back to watch for during the 2025 draft cycle, and someone who may end up becoming a priority UDFA depending on how the board falls.
