Georgia basketball has made its first addition to its roster this cycle from the transfer portal.
Cal guard Jeremiah Wilkinson, the ACC’s Sixth Man of the Year this past season as a freshman, committed to the Bulldogs on Thursday, according to his Instagram account.
Wilkinson was second on the Bears at 15.1 points per game and led the team with 60 3-pointers and was third with 25 steals.
He started the final 14 games of the season for a team that went 14-19 overall.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-hander is a Georgia product from Powder Springs who played at the Skill Factory and before that at McEachern High School. He was rated a three-star prospect out of high school.
"He just felt like it was the best fit, close to home and the SEC," said Drew Kelso of One Motive Sports which represents Wilkinson. "An opportunity to play. It was a situation we felt really good about."
Wilkinson scored 36 points in a four-overtime loss to Notre Dame.
Georgia has had three players enter the transfer portal: guards Silas Demary Jr. and De’Shayne Montgomery and forward RJ Godfrey.
