Oklahoma State basketball adds transfer point guard Kanye Clary from Mississippi State

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State added to the backcourt with its first addition from the transfer portal.

Former Mississippi State point guard Kanye Clary has committed to OSU on Friday, per multiple reports.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Clary appeared in seven games, making four starts, before a lower-leg injury ended his junior season last November. He averaged 6.3 points over that span, with 18 assists and five turnovers.

A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Clary began his career with two seasons at Penn State, where as a sophomore he posted 16.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 23 games.

Clary is the first of what will be several transfer portal additions for the Cowboys, who graduated nine players and have had one scholarship player — guard Connor Dow — enter the portal to this point.

That leaves the Cowboys with four scholarship players and three high school additions prior to Clary’s commitment, and thus, a lot of work left to do in the portal.
