A Columbus Blue Jackets prospect has hit the NCAA’s transfer portal once again.

It’s been reported by Mark Divver that Columbus Blue Jackets' prospect, William Whitelaw, will be entering the NCAA’s transfer portal for the second time in two years. He was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NHL Draft.

The 20-year-old from Rosemount, Minnesota played his freshman year at Wisconsin before transferring to the University of Michigan last year.

At Wisconsin, he played 37 games, scoring 10 goals and totaling 17 points. For Michigan, he played in 35 games, scored 11 goals, and had 18 points. His 11 goals tied for third on the team, while his 18 points were good enough for 6th. He also had 4 power-play goals, which was 2nd on the team.

Divvers later reported that Whitelaw would be transferring to Western Michigan. Western Michigan is currently in the Frozen Four and will play Denver on April 10th in St. Louis. Should they beat Denver, they'll play the winner of Penn State and Boston University for the championship.

Western Michigan is currently 32-7-1 on the season.

As of April 2nd, over 200 players had entered their names in the transfer portal.

Zach Werenski Is On The Cusp Of CBJ History Once AgainZach Werenski Is On The Cusp Of CBJ History Once AgainDefenseman Zach Werenski has arguably been the Most Valuable Player for the Columbus Blue Jackets this season. If you were to take him off of this team, the CBJ wouldn't be in the position they are in my opinion. Several national NHL personalities have even said that if the Blue Jackets make the playoffs, they're going to vote for Werenski for the Hart Trophy. The Hart is supposed to be awarded for the most valuable player to his team in the National Hockey League. Not the highest scorer, the most valuable player to his team, and Zach Werenski fits that description.  Columbus Signs 2021 Fourth Round Pick To An Entry Level ContractColumbus Signs 2021 Fourth Round Pick To An Entry Level ContractColumbus has announced that they have signed 2021 4th round pick Guillaume Richard to a two-year, entry level contract beginning with the 2025-26 season.
