Wisconsin basketball forward Xavier Amos has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to 247Sports.
The rising senior is the fifth Badger to enter the portal this offseason, following former top recruit Daniel Freitag, veteran guard Camren Hunter, walk-on guard Aidan Konop and veteran forward Chris Hodges.
Amos played one year for the program after transferring in from Northern Illinois last offseason. He averaged 9.6 minutes, 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in 37 appearances while shooting 37.4% from the field and 30% from 3.
The veteran forward was in line for a significant role in 2025-26 after the departures of veteran forwards Steven Crowl and Carter Gilmore to graduation. Standout Nolan Winter is back to lead the team's frontcourt rotation, with Portland transfer Austin Rapp recently joining that mix. Our latest projected lineup and rotation includes Winter and Rapp as the starting duo, with Amos playing substantial minutes in a reserve role. Now, the Badgers' already-existing need of frontcourt depth is further heightened.
Amos previously averaged 30.9 minutes, 13.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 50% from the field and 38.5% from 3 at Northern Illinois in 2023-24. That season included 25 appearances, all of them starts. The veteran forward will likely search for a similar role with a new program.
