BATON ROUGE – In the wake of adding a much-needed post player to the fold out of the transfer portal, Kim Mulkey and LSU women's basketball lost another to the portal.
Sophomore center Aalyah Del Rosario has entered her name into the transfer portal Monday, sources within the program confirmed to The Daily Advertiser. She becomes the third player off the 2024-25 team to enter the portal, following forward Sa'Myah Smith and senior guard Last-Tear Poa.
LSU signed Notre Dame transfer forward Kate Koval from the transfer portal earlier Monday.
Del Rosario was part of Mulkey's first No. 1 recruiting class back in 2023 but now the 6-6 prospect becomes the third player from that class to transfer out. Guards Janae Kent (Texas A&M) and Angelica Velez (Syracuse) entered the portal before this past season.
Over her two seasons with the Tigers, Del Rosario struggled to remain healthy — she had surgery each of the last two offseasons. Initially, she was not needed to play key minutes early in her college career, playing behind All-Americans Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow.
But with the limited minutes and the injuries, Del Rosario's progress and development as a player was hampered and she was not able to breakthrough for significant playing time.
Del Rosario averaged 3.5 points per game in her career, playing less than 10 minutes per game.
