MSU basketball linked to sharp-shooting transfer portal target

Michigan State basketball has been reportedly connected to a three-point shooting threat in the transfer portal that helped lead his former team to the NCAA Tournament.

Spartan Avenue posted a story on Monday stating Montana transfer sharp-shooter Malik Moore is on Michigan State's "radar." The article from Spartan Avenue didn't include any concrete sourcing but more so a rumor and player to watch for the Spartans in the transfer portal at this time.

Moore starred for the Grizzlies this past season, finishing second on the team in scoring with 12.6 points per game and 2.4 assists per game. Even more important for the Spartans is his ability to shoot the three-pointer, where he hit 40.9% of his five attempts per game. Moore and Montana were a No. 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament this year, and gave Wisconsin a relatively tough first round game before the Badgers pulled away late.

Michigan State is in need of a shooting guard and backup point guard with Tre Holloman hitting the transfer portal last week. If Jase Richardson were to go pro as well, they'll potentially want to add two players like Moore via the transfer portal.

For now, this is only a rumor and player to monitor for the Spartans. But as we know, things can heat up quickly in the transfer portal so be sure to keep an eye on Moore over the next week or two.
