Four expectations for Michigan State fans to have as Spartans navigate transfer portal

Michigan State basketball saw their 2024-25 season end just over a week ago, dropping their Elite 8 contest to Auburn last Sunday. Since then, it has been an eventful week for Michigan State and the future of the MSU program.

The Spartans saw three of their own enter the NCAA transfer portal, with Tre Holloman, Gehrig Normand and Xavier Booker all hitting the portal, moving on in their careers. MSU also is still awaiting a decision on if Jase Richardson is departing the program for the NBA Draft, as well.

With all of that being said, the Spartans are almost certainly going into the transfer portal additions to the roster. With the holes on the roster, it is pretty much a necessity for Tom Izzo to add new talent.

As it was mentioned before, it has been about a week and no roster movement, or even speculation of roster movement, has been made with Michigan State. This has fans on edge, as they watch teams in the conference and country load up their rosters with new talent.

It is important to remember, and manage expectations, and have proper expectations as fans await Izzo and his staff navigate the portal.
