Lions to host Detroit native, UCF RB Peny Boone for local Pro Day

The Lions have invited Central Florida running back Peny Boone to their local Pro Day, according to Justin Melo of The Draft Network.

Boone is a local native of Detroit. His Twitter handle even has Detroit in it, @detroitpenn.

Boone appeared in seven games for UCF in 2024 after transferring from Toledo. He rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries. His best season came in 2023, rushing for 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns for Toledo and adding 219 yards and a touchdown on 15 catches.

Boone started his collegiate career at Maryland, appearing in 14 games. He was a top-20 running back out of high school. He attended Martin Luther King High School in Detroit and won two state championships. Boone began his college career at Maryland.

Boone projects as an undrafted free agent that can help on special teams.
