The Salinas Regional Soccer Complex has been chosen to host a prestigious soccer tournament this summer.
Alianza de Futbol, recognized for identifying and nurturing soccer talent within Hispanic communities, will bring its national tour to Salinas Aug. 9 and 10.
"This is more than just a tournament—it’s a nationally recognized platform where local talent gets the chance to shine," said Jonathan De Anda, general manager of the soccer complex. "Alianza de Futbol is known for scouting and opening doors for players who may not have access to elite pathways."
The event is open to any team that wants to register. Alianza organizes divisions by age and skill level and teams register online through their website.
Several teams from Salinas have participated in past years when the tournament was held in Morgan Hill and a few won their divisions, De Anda said.
"One standout example is Salinas Soccer Femenil, who won the ViX Alianza Femenil crown in 2023," De Anda said. "It was a huge moment for the team and for local women's soccer."
Alianza de Futbol chose the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex as one of just eight facilities nationwide—and notably the smallest by host city population.
The other seven host cities chosen for the tour include Dallas, New York, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Colorado Springs, El Paso and Chicago.
"For the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex, hosting this event reinforces our role as a top-tier venue for youth sports," De Anda said. "It brings visibility to our growing facilities, attracts visitors from across the region, and boosts our local economy. But most importantly, it celebrates and uplifts our community’s passion for the sport."

Reservations are now being accepted for the new turf fields, which can be booked up to six months in advance, and while management anticipates interest from organizations outside the region, priority will be given to local teams and leagues that align with its mission to serve the Salinas Valley community first.
Still to come are seven additional natural grass soccer fields, and a field house for indoor soccer, with a wellness center, cafeteria, classrooms and offices. Additional features include basketball, pickleball, and multi-use sport courts, playgrounds, picnic areas and sand courts that can be used for volleyball and ...
