Senior season provided family memories for girls soccer player of the year Addie Lemmond

LAKELAND — They didn’t win a state title like Rutenbars (head coach Glenn and daughters Kelli and Kara) or Chewnings (head coach Phil and daughters Cari and Jessica) in softball, but Victory Christian’s Addie Lemmond and Jamie Lemmond couldn’t have enjoyed the past few seasons any more than they did.

With Addie being one of the top players in the county and her father Jamie taking over after the death of the previous head coach in 2021, the duo helped build the Victory Christian girls soccer into one of the top teams in the county this past season.

With Addie, a Divison-I signee, leading the way on the field as one defenders in the county who also was a force on offense, the Storm had their best season in school history, reaching the playoffs for the first time, winning their first playoff game and falling one game short of the final four.

Addie is the Ledger’s 2024-25 Girls Soccer Player of the Year, and Jamie was named the coach of the year.

Accomplishing what she did with her team meant a lot to Addie, and it’s not just on the soccer field where she is coached by her father. Jamie Lemmond, a former assistant football coach, is the head track coach, and Addie runs track in the spring.
