It has been a very long collegiate career for former Notre Dame football starting quarterback Drew Pyne, and on Monday he found his newest home in the MAC conference.
The Connecticut native started his college journey with the Irish in 2020, as he worked his way into a starting position in 2022. When Sam Hartman transferred into the program, Pyne saw the writing on the wall and decided to enter the transfer portal.
Every year since 2023, he’s had a new team, going from Arizona State to Missouri and now he’s landed at Bowling Greenaccording to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Pyne will get to play for former Ohio State Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George, who just last month was named as their head coach.
This move makes plenty of sense for Pyne, as it was pretty obvious that each of the other schools that he was previously at didn’t see him as a legit option to be their starter. With a new head coach, he’ll get a fresh start at trying to regain a starting job.
Interestingly enough, Pyne still has two-years of eligibility remaining, so we could be seeing a lot of him over the next few seasons.
