BLANCHARD — The Ada High School girls golf team finished seventh at the 6A Regional Preview hosted Thursday by the Winter Creek Goff and Country Club.
The field included some of the best girls golf teams in Class 6A and Ada was the lone 5A squad in the tournament. It was a good tuneup for Ada’s first home tournament of the spring. The Lady Cougars are scheduled to host the Class 5A Girls Regional Preview Monday at the Oak Hills Golf and Country Club.
Edmond North won the championship after shooting a team score of 328. Norman North was runner-up at 337 followed by Edmond Memorial at 349, Pidmont at 384 and Mustang at 391.
Ada finished with a team score of 397.
Norman North teammates Harlow Gregory and Juliana Hong were tied at the top of the individual standings with scores of 75. Lana Bowen of Deer Creek was third at 78 and she was followed by Cara Cummins of Edmond North at 80 and Abbie Justiz of Edmond North at 81.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Latta High School senior Rhett Gray competed against some of the best golfers in the state — in all classes — Wednesday at the Putnam City North Tournament.
It didn’t seem to bother him one bit.
Gray earned a Top 10 finish in the rugged field of 107 golfers. He shot a two-over 72 and ended up in a three-way tie for seventh place. The tournament was hosted by the Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
“It was a very competitive field and he was playing against some of the best 5A and 6A schools in the state,” said Latta golf coach Matt Bryant.
Gray’s round included a pair of birdies in the back nine.
Three players shot under par for the tournament. Preston Albee of Choctaw won the medalist crown with a 67 and Caday’s Jack Lee and Metro Christian’s Porter Finley were a stroke back with identical 68 scores.
Gray’s LHS teammates will join him Thursday when the Panthers compete in the Turner Invitational, hosted by the Falconhead Country Club near Burneyville.
