A perfect 10. These MetroWest and Milford-area high school athletes dominated the weekend. Some notched career milestones, while they all put up impressive numbers.
Here's the weekend standout performances from April 4-6:
Emily Atwood, Hopedale softball
She punched out 11 batters to earn the win in the circle 10-3 over Millis on Friday. Atwood had three hits and scored four runs for the Blue Raiders (2-0). Hopedale's Layden MacDonald (two RBIs, two runs) and Layla Huntley (three runs) connected on three hits each.
Sophia Flynn, Algonquin softball
She was 4-for-4 with three RBIs, three runs and three steals in a 14-2 win over North Middlesex on Friday. Maeve Walker, Phoebe Lefebvre, Nora Williamson (RBI) and Valerie Lemont (two RBIs) each had two hits for the Titans (1-1, 1-1 Mid-Wach B).
Makenzie Gage & Taylor Payne, Westborough girls lacrosse
They each scored their 100th career point in a 15-11 win over Nashoba on Friday. Gage scored seven goals and had two assists for the Rangers (4-0, 2-0). Payne put away one goal with two assists.
Jorge Garcia Gonzalez, Westborough boys tennis
He clinched a 3-2 in over Shrewsbury on Friday with a three-set comeback against Vedant Hota. Garcia Gonzalez fell 4-6 in the first set before rallying 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Rangers (2-0, 2-0 Mid-Wach A). Westborough's Zach Forjette won 6-2, 6-3 against Anay Arvind at No. 2 singles, and the Rangers No. 1 doubles pair of Subash Pallothu and Arnav Chinthapatia beat Sampath Katralu and Farhan Hussein 6-2, 7-5.
