NORMAN — Miami transfer Nijel Pack, a veteran guard, has committed to Oklahoma, he announced on Monday.
Pack chose the Sooners over Indiana, Kansas and a potential return to Kansas State, where he spent two seasons. He's expected to have one more season of eligibility remaining after applying for a medical hardship waiver.
A First-Team All-Big 12 selection in 2022 during his time with the Wildcats, Pack only played nine games this season due to a left foot injury, averaging 13.9 points, three rebounds and 4.3 assists. Pack scored in double-figures in seven of the nine games he played, totaling three 20-point games and tallying his 25th career 20-point game with 22 points against Arkansas in December.
Pack was the 2023 NCAA Tournament Midwest Region Most Outstanding player when he helped lead the Hurricanes to the Final Four during the 2022-23 season.
Coach Porter Moser is reloading for next season, with Pack joining freshmen trio Alec Blair, Andreas Holst and Kai Rogers. As expected Dayton Forsythe, Jeff Nwankwo, Jadon Jones and Kuol Atak announced their intentions to return next season.
Pack is OU's second transfer addition of the spring, following Notre Dame forward Tae Davis.
