Here are the top Topeka-area high school sports performances from March 31-April 5

TOPEKA — The high school spring sports season is well underway. Athletes and teams are already competing at a high level in the city. Personal records and big wins have already highlighted the opening weeks of play. 

Here are the top performances from Shawnee County from March 31-April 5.

Boys

Monday, March 31

Cooper Campidilli, Silver Lake baseball: The starting pitcher threw 6.0 innings and allowed just one run on three hits while he struck out six batters in the Eagles' 8-1 win over Holton.

Jack Donovan, Rossville golf: The junior fired a round of 74 in the Royal Valley Invitational, placing him second overall. 

Ben Renfro, Silver Lake baseball: The designated knocked in four runs to lead the Eagles to a 12-8 win over Holton in the first game of their doubleheader.

Tuesday, April 1

Matias Bledsoe, Topeka West baseball: The first baseman led the Chargers with two RBIs and a hit as the Chargers picked up a 7-6 win over Turner.

Axton Brewer, Seaman baseball: The designated hitter finished with a team-high six RBIs across the doubleheader victories over Turner. The Vikings earned 20-0 and 20-0 wins over the Bears.

Cale Deutscher and Dylan Willingham, Washburn Rural tennis: The junior doubles team went undefeated winning their home invitational. They won the championship match 6-3, 6-4. 

Austin Ditch, Washburn Rural baseball: The shortstop picked up five hits and scored seven runs while he finished with two RBIs across the team’s 18-1 and 24-1 wins over Topeka High. 

Mason Foxford, Highland Park baseball: He led the team with three RBIs and pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts in the Scots' 11-2 win over Wyandotte.

Carson Garner, Shawnee Heights baseball: The first baseman led the team with five RBIs as he earned three hits in the Thunderbirds’ 12-2 win over Basehor-Linwood. 

Cooper Grace, Hayden baseball: The Nebraska signee had a massive game hitting two home runs and driving in four runs in the Wildcats' 8-1 win over Ottawa. He also threw 5 innings striking out 10 batters in the win.

Dayton Schneider and Owen Stewart, Seaman tennis: The doubles team won the De Soto Invite going undefeated (5-0) on the day 

Ethan Winters, Seaman tennis: The senior went 5-0 claiming the De Soto Invite title in No. 1 singles tournament. 

Thursday, April 3

Brody Anderson, Seaman track and field: The junior won the 800-meter run with a 1:58 in the Coach Beardslee Invite at Washburn Rural.

Sam Brown, Highland Park baseball: Brown finished with a team-high two RBIs in the Scots’ 15-0 win over Kansas City Northeast. 

Logan Cathcart, Silver Lake baseball: The shortstop led the team with two RBIs in the Eagles' 5-0 win over Nemaha Central.

Carson Garner, Shawnee Heights baseball: The first baseman drove in five runs on three hits in Shawnee Heights' 12-2 win over Basehor-Linwood.

Henry Laubach, Washburn Rural track and field: The freshman won the 3200-meter run with a 9:55 on his home track. 

Cale Rosenberger, Seaman baseball: The first baseman finished with five RBIs across a 15-0 and 15-0 doubleheader victories ...
