VOTE for the Morris/Sussex Softball Player of the Week for March 31 - April 6

After an exciting start to the high school softball season, it's time to look back on the best performances. 

Read about the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the Morris/Sussex Player of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

Julia Beers, Whippany Park

The freshman outfielder went 5-for-12 this week for the Panthers with a triple, a home run and three stolen bases. Beers scored five times and had six RBIs for Whippany Park.

Daniella Biggio, Montville

The senior pitcher allowed one earned run and two combined hits across 12 innings while striking out 30 as the Mustangs began with a 3-0 start. At the plate, Biggio went 7-for-11 with a triple and two home runs, driving in six runs and scoring nine times.

Hailey Collins, Mount Olive

The freshman infielder went 9-for-14 with two doubles, three runs scored and eight RBIs for the Marauders this week.,

Abbey Davis, Pope John

The junior shortstop went 7-for-16 at the plate this week, scoring nine runs while having six stolen bases and six RBIs while the Lions began the season 3-1.

Jordan Hicinbothem, Boonton

The freshman catcher made a strong first impression for the Bombers with a 3-for-8 week at the plate to go along with four runs scored, three RBIS and six stolen bases. , Hicinbothem also found herself on base eight more times this week with three walks and being hit by a pitch five times, giving her an on-base percentage of .687 to start the season.

Ryan Mullen, Roxbury

The senior first baseman powered Roxbury to a 3-0 start this week with strong swings at the plate. Mullen went 8-for-13 for the week with a pair of home runs, driving in seven and scoring four runs herself. Mullen helped guide the Gaels to wins over Sparta, Mount Olive and Morris Knolls with her offensive week.

Avery Neuer, Morristown Beard

The junior pitcher struck out 27 batters across 14 innings to win a pair of games over Morris Tech and Mountain Lakes this week for the Crimson. Neuer allowed just eight total hits and no earned runs in the victories. Neuer went 3-for-7 with three doubles and drove in four runs offensively.

Sydney Ribnicky, Roxbury

A junior pitcher/infielder, Ribnicky earned victories in all three of Roxbury's games, allowing 26 hits and 20 runs (nine earned), 11 walks, and striking out 18. At the plate, Ribnicky went 8-for-14 with a homer, two runs scored and six RBI.

Zoe Turner, Morris Hills

The senior pitcher struck out 26 batters across 26 innings pitched in the circle this week for the Scarlet Knights to go 3-1 for the week. Turner went 8-for-14 at the plate, scoring six runs, driving in three more runs and stealing four bases in wins over Mount Olive, Morristown and Weehawken.

Jordyn Young, Newton

The junior first baseman began the season red hot at the plate, going 8-for-11 with three triples, three runs scored and five RBIs across three games as the Braves went 2-1 for the week. Young had four hits in each of the first two games of the season, a 2-1 win over Sussex Tech on Tuesday and an 11-0 win at Dover on Thursday.

Arianna Zajac, Parsippany

The sophomore pitcher earned two wins in the circle to start the season off strong for the Redhawks. Zajac struck out eight in seven innings in an 8-5 win over Mountain Lakes on Tuesday, followed by five hitless ...
