TV, schedule and preview for No. 2 Georgia at No. 5 Texas baseball

The No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs baseball team plays the No. 5 Texas Longhorns in the Bulldogs' biggest test to date.

Georgia is 29-2 and 8-1 in the SEC. The Bulldogs have the best record in the country. Texas is 23-4 and is 8-1 in the SEC. The Longhorns are coming off a 5-3 home loss to Texas State, but has an impressive series win over the No. 6 LSU Tigers this season. Georgia beat Queens University (Charlotte, North Carolina) 21-1 this week and enters the series with the most home runs in the country.

Georgia's three game series against Texas runs from Friday, April 4 to Sunday, April 6. The Georgia-Texas series will be televised on SEC Network+ and is expected to be one of the best series all season.

Georgia and Texas are both tied atop the SEC baseball standings with 8-1 conference records (Tennessee and Arkansas are also 8-1 in SEC play). The Georgia-Texas series could go a long way in deciding who will have an inside track to having a top seed in the postseason.

"It's still a game," said Georgia baseball manager Wes Johnson ahead of the Texas series. "There's nothing bigger or whatever. You have to go out, you have to stay focused."

"Just trying to keep them right here and understand we just have to go play baseball and play our game if we can. We'll be in every game we play," added Johnson ahead of the Texas series. Georgia needs to take the series against Texas one pitch at a time and not try to win the series in one swing.

This will be Georgia and Texas' first ever baseball series in SEC play. The teams did meet in the 2004 College World Series with the Longhorns winning both games.
