Top Washington prospect to take official visit to Michigan State in June

A highly-rated edge rusher from the west coast will reportedly be taking an official visit to Michigan State in June.

David Schwerzel of Seattle will reportedly take an official visit to Michigan State on June 2, according to 247Sports recruiting insider Brandon Huffman.

Schwerzel is a high three-star prospect on 247Sports, with a rating of 89. He ranks as the No. 36 edge rusher in the country and No. 2 overall player from Washington in 247Sports' rankings for the 2026 class.

Michigan State is one of nearly 15 schools to offer Schwerzel, according to 247Sports. Other notable programs to offer Schwerzel includes UCLA, Stanford, California, Washington, Louisville, Miami (FL), Michigan, Penn State, Oregon State, Vanderbilt and Washington State.

Schwerzel is also planning to take official visits to Washington (May 2), California (May 29), Stanford (June 6) and UCLA (June 14).
