Texas A&M's offensive line looks like a predominant strength heading into the 2025 season
Texas A&M's 2025 season officially kicked off on Thursday during the first day of spring practice as head coach Mike Elko and his staff look to build momentum heading into the summer and fall training camp before hosting UTSA on Saturday, August 30.
Entering the offseason, A&M's roster "strengths" start in the trenches, which has been the case since starting left back Trey Zuhn III announced his return to the team, as A&M's offensive line is in perfect shape with over 20 O-linemen on scholarship this year, providing more the adequate depth. At the same time, sophomore center Mark Nabou has also returned from his season-ending injury.
"Last year at this time, that was a big concern, and now you look at it, and you have the top seven back from a group that played pretty good football last season."
"We're going into spring ball with 20 offensive linemen… That's a really good starting point, and then they're going to be out there, competing and getting better every day."
Starting quarterback Marcel Reed needs time to continue developing as a passer, which starts up front with improved pass protection to help him work through his progressions and eventually gain consistent confidence throughout the season. However, Texas A&M's deep running back room, headlined by the return of Le'Veon Moss coupled with Rueben Owens and Amari Daniels, will help OC Collin Klein's run-dependent scheme to make strides finally.
Elite run blocking and above-average pass protection will automatically improve Texas A&M's offense next season, and while most of said improvement hinges on Marcel Reed's play, solid O-line play usually dictates team success more than not.
