Sexton's Keyshawn Summerville tabbed all-state in Division 2

Sexton's Keyshawn Summerville (1) shoots against Haslett, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in Charlotte.

Keyshawn Summerville delivered one of the biggest moments of the boys basketball season in Greater Lansing when he drained a buzzer-beating 3 from beyond half court while lifting Sexton to a regional title.

The junior guard delivered in plenty of other instances this winter on the basketball court.

Summerville has earned recognition for his success by being named to the Michigan Sports Writers all-state squad as a first team selection in Division 2.

The recognition for Summerville comes after helping the J-Dubbs to a 19-6 record that included a runner-up finish in the CAAC White and district and regional titles. Summerville, who owns offers from Division I programs Kent State and Youngstown State, averaged 19.8 points, made 46 3-pointers and shot 76% from free-throw line while helping Sexton make its deepest state tournament run since 2012 when they won a Class B state title.

Summerville was one of three players from Greater Lansing to earn recognition in Division 2. Portland's Kayden Dickerson and Alma's Owen Seeley were selected honorable mention all-state.
