The Indianapolis Colts are one of six teams that will hold a private workout for Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, according to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda.
Pauline added that Warren did not work out at Penn State's pro day but will instead do private workouts for the Colts, Bears, Chargers, Jets, Rams, and Saints.
Of note for the Colts, who are picking at 14th overall, the Jets, Bears, and Saints are all picking ahead of Indianapolis.
Tight end remains a big need for the Colts heading into the NFL draft, which has made Warren a very common selection for Indianapolis in mock drafts.
The Colts need a much greater passing game presence at the tight end position, which Warren would provide. In 2024, he totaled over 100 receptions and went over 1,200 receiving yards.
But Warren has the ability to impact the game in a number of ways. He's versatile, able to line up across the formation, including in the backfield if needed, and he's also a very capable run-blocker as well. That do-it-all skill set from the tight end can add a layer of unpredictability to an offense.
Given the blocking-heavy role that the tight end can often play in Shane Steichen's offense, Warren's ability to impact the game that way makes him a good fit for the Colts.
The big question, however, when it comes to Warren from the Colts' perspective is, will he be available when Indianapolis is picking? Many draft analysts have Warren as a top 10 prospect in this year's class, and it is not only the Colts who would benefit from his well-rounded skill set.
