Penn State's Guy Gadowsky finalist for coach of the year award

After coaching the Penn State Nittany Lions to the first NCAA Frozen Four in program history, Penn State men's ice hockey head coach Guy Gadowsky has been named a finalist for this year's Spencer Penrose Award. The award goes to the nation's Division 1 coach of the year by the American Hockey Coacehs Association.

Gadowsky earned his coach of the year nomination by guiding Penn State into the Frozen Four. Penn State clinched its historic first trip to the Frozen Four with a thrilling overtime victory over UConn on Sunday in the Allentown regional final. Penn State also took out Hockey East champion Maine in the first round, doing so with a dominant 5-1 victory.
