Report: Rams expected to work out Penn State TE Tyler Warren, a potential top-10 pick

Tyler Warren has been viewed as the top tight end in the 2025 draft class, with analysts projecting him to go as early as the first 10 picks. The Penn State product is a well-rounded tight end who can do it all, which is why he’s so highly regarded heading into the draft.

The Los Angeles Rams don’t pick until No. 26 overall in the first round but they might have their eye on Warren in a potential trade-up scenario. According to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the Rams are one of the teams expected to work out Warren before the draft.

Warren didn’t work out at the NFL combine or Penn State’s pro day, opting to focus on private workouts with select teams.

Warren's choice to stand on the sidelines was something I've been privy to for a few weeks now. I was told the tight end is focusing on a handful of teams and will showcase his talents for them before the draft.

The New York Jets, Chicago Bears, and Indianapolis Colts were three of the teams named. Since then, I've been told the New Orleans Saints and both LA teams have seemingly joined the mix.

The Rams haven’t been shy about their desire to improve at tight end, attempting to trade up for both Dalton Kincaid and Brock Bowers in the last two years. They ultimately failed to land either player, but it’s clear they want to upgrade the position with Tyler Higbee getting older.

Warren was a first-team All-American last season and won the John Mackey Award as the top tight end in the nation, finishing the year with an FBS-leading 104 catches, 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns. He also carried the ball 26 times for 218 yards and four touchdowns, showing remarkable versatility on offense.

He’s 6-foot-5 ½ and 256 pounds, and though we don’t have testing numbers for the Penn State tight end, there’s little concern about his athleticism.

There’s almost no chance he’ll fall to the Rams at No. 26 so they might be considering trading up for him if he slips out of the top 10. Or perhaps they’re just doing their due diligence in case Michigan’s Colston Loveland winds up being the first tight end drafted, causing Warren to fall further than expected.
